Water

Water is such a scarce substance, which is why I wanted to make this jewels so light, using gold wire, the most minimal expression of something very valuable. The little stones, some of which are miniscule, are apatite crystals, a marvellously blue mineral stone evoking warm tropical seas of azure blue. Despite appearances apatite isn't such a durable stone, it can crumble easily, turning into dust: it's ephemeral. Up to the point, water can also be considered to be an ephemeral substance, one that we can't retain between our fingers and even when contained in an open receptacle, will evaporate over time...
